AIIMS PG 2024: AIIMS, New Delhi invites applications from eligible applicants for AIIMS PG Entrance Exam 2024 to offer admission in MS (Master of Surgery) & MD (Doctor of Medicine programs.AIIMS, New Delhi schedules this examination two times in a year (for January & July sessions) for admission to MS/MD programs in Clinical & Basic Clinical Sciences and MDS programs. AIIMS PG 2024 Important Dates

For January Session (MD/MS/MCh-6yrs/DM-6yrs)

Online registration starts 2nd week of September 2023
Registration closes on 1st week of October 2023
Last date to submit required documents 3rd week of October 2023
Releases of Admit card Last week of October 2023
Entrance Exam on 2nd week of November 2023
Declaration of Result 3rd week of November 2023
1st counselling 1st week of December 2023

Eligibility Criteria

  • A student must belong to the Indian national.
  • Students must hold the Degree in MBBS for MD/MS and BDS Degree for MDS recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India with securing minimum marks of 50% for SC/ST students and 55% aggregate marks for General candidates.
  • The student must complete the 12 months of compulsory rotatory internship training on or before 31st January 2024.
  • Then their training must be completed on or before 30th July 2024, if the student will apply for the July session.

Application fee

  • The application fee can be submitted through Debit card/Credit card/Net Banking.
  • OPH students are exempted from the payment of application fee.
For SC/ST students, the application fee is Rs. 800/-
The application fee for UR/OBC students is Rs. 1000/-

Exam Pattern

There will be a total 200 MCQs. This exam will last for only 180 minutes for MD/ MS exam. For each wrong answer, 0.33 marks will be deducted whereas 1 mark will be given for each correct answer.

For MD/MS

Exam Duration 3 Hours (180 Min)
Number of Questions 200 Objective based multiple choice questions
Marking Criteria 1 Marks for each correct option
Negative Marking 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each incorrect option

For MDS

Exam Duration 1.5 Hours  (90 Min)
Number of Questions 90 Objective based multiple choice questions
Marking Criteria 1 Marks for each correct option
Negative Marking 1/3rd marks will be deducted for each incorrect option

AIIMS PG Marking Scheme

  • Each correct response will get 1 mark
  • Each wrong response will get -1/3 marks (minus one third)

AIIMS PG 2024 Counselling

  • Candidates have to bring one photocopy of their registration slip along with other original documents, on the day of counselling.
  • The counselling will be conducted in three rounds.
  • The admission will be completely based on the entrance examination.
  • For filling the vacant seats, the third round of counselling will be held as open counselling
