CLAT 2016 Application Form, Important Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab is going to conduct CLAT 2016. This examination is national level entrance examination for the admission of UG, PG and integrated law programs. The duration of the test is 2 hours and there will be MCQ type questions about Mathematics, GK, English and Legal & Logical Reasoning. The candidates should have qualified higher secondary examination to apply for CLAT for UG & integrated programs and for PG the minimum qualification is UG in Law.
Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2016
For UG- The applicant should have cleared the pattern of higher secondary or its equivalent examination (appearing candidates can also apply) from the government recognized board scoring minimum 45% (40% for SC/ST) as prescribed by the participating university.
For PG- The applicant should have cleared the LLB or 5 year integrated LLB degree or its equivalent degree scoring minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) from a recognized university as per prescribed by the participating university.
Age Limitation-The applicant should have aged below 20 years as on 1st July 2016 (22 years for SC/ST/Disable) as prescribed by the respective statutes of the participating universities. There is no upper age limitation for PG programs.
Other eligibility criteria- The candidates have to be an Indian or NRI sonly. The applicants clearing the qualifying examination with supplementary or compartment are also eligible but they need to submit the proof of qualifying examination with prescribed or as applicable. The foreign national applicants can contact the university directly who participating in CLAT for admission provision of a foreign national candidate.

Application Procedure for CLAT
The candidates have to apply online for CLAT 2016. The application fee if Rs. 4000/- for general candidates and Rs. 3500/- for reserved candidates. The candidates can pay application fee on CLAT website through debit card/ credit card/ net banking.
For UG and PG courses the candidates need to apply through official website. Once the results have been declared, the counselling will be takes place afterwards. The institutions and seats will be allotted as per the performance of candidates in CLAT 2016 and according to the availability of seats in desired university.
CLAT 2016 Examination Pattern
For UG Courses
The duration of the examination will be 2 hours and there will be MCQ type questions. Each question contains 1 mark. There will be penalty of 25% marks for each wrong answer. The question paper will consists questions based on following areas:
- Reasoning (40 questions)
- English & Comprehension (40 questions)
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs (50 questions)
- Legal Aptitude (50 questions)
- Elementary Mathematics (20 questions)
For PG Courses
There will be 150 MCQ type questions with 2 hours duration and total marks containing 150. Each correct answer contains 1 marks and there will be 25% penalty for each wrong answer. The question paper will consists questions based on following areas-
- Jurisprudence (50 questions)
- Constitutional Law (50 questions)
- Other Law Subjects (50 questions)
