IISc Admission 2024: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore is one of the best institutes which offer admission to eligible candidates in the field of research. The Institute does not schedule any separate entrance examination for IISC, hence the admissions will be done on the basis of national level entrance examination scores. The institute provides admissions in UG & PG programs through JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, CEED, JAM, JEST, UGC NET, KVPY & other entrance tests. Eligibility Criteria
For UG Courses
- Passed PUC/12th or equivalent exam.
- Candidates must have physics, chemistry, and mathematics/biology as compulsory subjects with 60% or equivalent grade (relaxed to pass class for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying exam.
- Passed the KVPY, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or NEET examination.
- Appearing candidates in 12th or equivalent in the year 2024 are also eligible to apply.
For M.Tech Courses
- A bachelor’s degree in the relevant field of engineering/technology is required to apply for M.Tech courses.
- Candidates having a Master’s degree in Science, Physical Sciences, Instrumentation, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Electronics or MCA candidates can also apply.
- Candidates should have a GATE 2018/2019/2024 scorecard.
For M.Mgt Course
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology or equivalent degree.
- A valid GATE 2020/2021/2024, CAT 2021, or GMAT scores are also required.
IISc Admission 2024 Application Form
The application form is available online at the official website of IISC for both UG & PG courses. Register through Email ID and create a new user account to start the online application process. Upload the scanned images of the photograph, candidate’s signature, parent/guardian’s signature. The closing date of applications for PG courses is the 4th week of March 2024 and for UG courses is the 4th week of April 2024. The sponsored candidates from DRDO, ISRO, KSRTC, BDA, CPRI, Defense, BARC, NAL, BMTC, and PWD, who are applying for sponsored programs, have to submit the hard copy of the online application form on or before last week of March 2024. Other candidates must take the printout of the application form for further use.

- The candidates have to pay the application fee to complete the application process.

Admission Process
For UG Courses
- Selection will be based on the merit list of the national level examinations like KVPY, JEE Main, JEE Advanced, and NEET UG.
- Fill out the application form and apply for admission.
- It is required to obtain marks in the examination as per the cut-off released by IISc.
- Reservation will be considered as per the Government of India regulations.
For PG Courses
- Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE scores.
- For some other courses, students will be selected on the basis of GATE scores followed by an aptitude test or interview.
- For admission in M.Des, Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of GATE or CEED scores followed by a Design Aptitude Test and interview process.
