UPSC releases the cut-offs for Civil Services Exam to limit the number of applicants for the recruitment. Cut off Stages

Cut off marks will be applied at all the 3 stages, Preliminary, Main & Personal Interview. Civil Services Exam 2021 cut off applications of all the stages are mentioned below. The applicants must note that “qualifying” means he/she has crossed the cut-off limit by scoring marks either equal or more than that cut off marks.

  • Preliminary exam- The qualified applicants will be selected for the Main exam.
  • Main exam- The qualified applicants will be selected for a personal interview.
  • Personal Interview- qualified applicants will be selected for recruitment.

Cut off marks impact on the selection procedure

If an applicant scored less than the cut off then he/she will not be selected for the next round of the recruitment process. Hence, it is very important to cross the cut off restriction to get qualify for the next round of the selection process. The higher the difference of marks, the greater will be the chance of final selection.
