NEET 2022

NEET 2022: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) to provide admissions to the undergraduate medical courses offered by the medical colleges of India. It is a National Level Medical Entrance Exam and a gateway to offer admissions to deserving applicants in MBBS, BDS & Ayush courses at the best colleges of India. The exam is conducted once in a Year in Offline mode (Pen and Paper Based). The applicants who are interested in NEET 2022 can apply for the examination before the last date of application. Candidates should fill only one application form. For more details about NEET 2022, candidates can read the following article.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates who are Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs & Foreign Nationals are eligible to apply.
  • Passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects from a recognized board is required to apply for NEET.
  • Candidates must have acquired 50% marks for PCB subjects (45% for PH and 40% for OBC/SC/ST candidates).
  • Appearing candidates in class 12 or equivalent exam are also eligible to apply for NEET 2022.

For 15% All India Quota Seats

  • J&K and Ladakh candidates are eligible to apply under 15% All India Quotas.
  • Such candidates can apply only on the basis of submitting a  self-declaration online.
  • The online Self- Declaration will be generated and printed automatically along with the confirmation page.
  • The above documents will be necessary during counselling/admission.

Age Limit

  • Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2022.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years as on the date of examination.
  • For SC, ST, OBC-NCL & PwD candidates, 5-year relaxation will be given.
  • There is no limit on the number of attempts a student can make.

NEET 2022 Application form

The applicants have to apply online from the official website of the authority. The NEET Application Form will be available from the First week of December 2021. The applicants are advised to go through the eligibility criteria & instructions carefully before they start the application process. Candidates have to submit a recent photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression & class 10th passing certificate in the prescribed format. At last, candidates can take a print of the filled application form and There is no need to send the printout of the application form to the board.

  • The application fee can be paid online using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net-banking/UPI/Paytm.
  • There will be no offline mode to pay the application fee.

Exam Pattern

  • The examination will be based on offline mode.
  • There will be a total of 180 questions of MCQ type.
  • The question paper will be available in English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Oriya, Assamese, Telugu, Tamil, Urdu and Kannada Languages.
  • The question paper will be divided into 4 sections.
  • The duration of the exam will be 3 hours.
  • The applicants will get 4 marks for each correct answer and there will be a penalty of 1 mark for each wrong answer.

Cut Off

Cut off marks for NEET 2022 will be decided based upon numbers of factors such as the number of applicants appear in the examination, seat availability in various colleges, the complexity of examination etc. NEET Authority will declare cut off marks along with NEET 2022 result. Counselling

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will be the conducting committee of the counselling process. The counselling will be done online to allow eligible applicants in the 15% All India Quota seats. Candidates who have qualified the examination and are present in the merit list will have to register themselves online for counselling. Before the final allotment of seats for all applicants, mock counselling will also be conducted online to help refine the selection of colleges and courses of the applicants. On the ranking of the applicant in the merit list and his/her given preference, final allotment of seats will be done based. The applicant will have to report at their allotted institute, after being successfully allotted seats, for document verification and payment of fees.

For 85% State Quota seats

The counselling will be done by the counselling committee of the respective states. Candidates will be allotted seats according to their ranking in the state merit list. the applicants will have to undergo document verification and fee payment after allotment and the mode of counselling will depend on the states.

Syllabus

The syllabus will be laid down authoritatively by the Medical Council of India. The syllabus will be based on standard 11th and 12th subjects. The question paper is divided into 4 sections which include- Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.

  • Physics: Gravitation, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Optics, Thermodynamics, Physical World and Measurement, Work, Energy and Power, Waves and Oscillations, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Atoms and Nuclei
  • Chemistry: Basic Concepts of Chemistry, States of Matter, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Periodic table, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Surface Chemistry, Biomolecules, Polymers
  • Biology: Diversity in the Living World, Genetics and Evolution, Cell structure and function, Classification of Plants and Animals, Human Physiology, Reproduction, Plant physiology, Biotechnology, Environment, Biology and Human Welfare, Ecology

      The applicants must have aged between 17 to 25 years as on 31st December of the admission year (for reserved applicants maximum age limit is 30 years).

  2. I belong to Uttar Pradesh and i am doing M.Sc zoology final year. My date of birth is 10/08/1992, am i eligible for NEET 2017-2018? i want to take coaching for medical entrance but i am worry about upper age limit. My age will be 25 years and 4 month as on 31 december 2017, but at the time of entrance exam my age will be under 25 years. Pls tell me i am eligible for NEET 2017-2018 or not?

    • it depends on which category u come from. For General category the age limit is 25 and for SC/ST/OBC category the age Limit is 30.So if u r General u will not be eligible to sit in 2017s NEET.

    • Actually brother Your age on or before Dec 31,2017 will be 16 i guess. but the eligibity for NEET 2017 entrance is the candidate should be atleast 17 years of age. You better take a one year Long term coaching so your age gets adjusted till time and by taking coaching you will be easily scoring neet 2018.

    As per NEET-2017 admission rules &regulations
    I studied my Nursery to 10th class in (CBSE syllabus) instate of Telangana (By birth Telangana state only) and if i continue my 10+2 in other state for example in New Delhi. Then to which state am eligible to avail 85% quota of Telangana or New Delhi?.

Sir my daughter date of birth is 18.9.1996 & she is now want to appear in NEET-2017 being a 3rd dropper as she is eligible for said entrance test NEET-2017 or otherwise as the notification is issued by CBSE on 25th January 2017 & same will be applicable for 3 times opportunity from 25.1.2017 or from previously as the mostly Govt. notifications are implemented from date of its actual issuance not from previous period. So please confirm me fast as my daughter is very frustrated from such type of unwanted decisions now.

  49. What Cast I should select if I belong to NT(B) Category? This is highly confusing filling category for NT students.

    We have Cast certificate and other documents of NT(B) Category. How we would get admission if we apply through OBC or SC/ST if we have documents of NT(B) Category?

    It would be great help if we get any guideline on this particular topic.
