DU Admission 2018 Application Form, Dates, Eligibility, Exam Pattern 

Delhi University Admission 2018 will be started from 15th May 2018. University of Delhi also known as Delhi University (DU) is the leading public University situated in New Delhi. For pursuing higher studies, it is the most sought institution. DU has various faculties which provide admission to UG and PG courses. DU admission will be done on the basis of entrance exam for some of the courses while, admissions are based on qualifying examination, for some other courses.

Delhi University Admission 2018 Application Form

Registration will be done through online mode only. Candidates have to submit separate application fee for each course. Candidates can apply for more than one course. From 18th May 2018, the application form will be available. After the payment of online registration fee, the application submission process will be completed. Applicants will be asked to upload scanned images of self-attested ID proof, signature, passport size photograph, self-attested copy of 10th passing certificate and self-attested copy of caste certificate in the prescribed format.

Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses

There is no minimum age bar for admission to UG courses offered by the University and its colleges except for some courses.

BMS/B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics/BBA (FIA)

  • Candidate should have passed/appearing 12th examination by securing 60% in four papers including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by the University of Delhi (55% for SC, ST, CW and PwD categories).
  • Candidates applying for improvement in 2018 shall not be eligible for admission.

B.Tech (Information technology & Mathematical Innovation)

  • 10 + 2 examination with Mathematics.
  • Minimum 60 % in four subjects (including mathematics), 54% for OBC, 57% for PwD/ CW category and passing marks for SC/ST.

B.A. (Hons.) Humanities & Social Sciences

  • Passed /appearing 10+2 examination.
  • Minimum marks criteria applicable as B.Tech (Mathematical Innovation & Information technology).

Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EL.Ed)

  • 12th passed/appearing with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education & Sports: B.Sc. (P.E., H.E. & S.)
  • 12th passed/appearing with at least 45% aggregate marks (On the basis of one language and three best subjects, the aggregate marks will be determined).

B.A. (Hons.) Multi-Media & Mass Communication

  • Minimum qualification is 12th passed/appearing with 75% aggregate of best four including 85% in English (for general category).
  • This course is only for women candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses

There is no minimum age bar for admission to PG courses offered by the University and its colleges except for some courses.

M.Tech Microwave Electronics

  • Sc. Electronics or M.Sc. Physics with specialization in Electronics by obtaining minimum 60% marks or
  • Tech./B.E. Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation Engineering by obtaining minimum 60% marks.

M.Sc. Physics

  • B.Sc in related subjects or any branch of Science or Engineering with Physics and Mathematics passed with minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% marks for B.Sc. (Hons.))

M.Com

  • B.Com (Hons.) or B.A. (Hons.) Economics Or B.Com Or B.B.S. B.B.A., B.B.A., B.I.F.A., and B.B.E degree from the recognized institution.

MCA

  • Bachelor degree (10+2+3 Scheme) from the University of Delhi with at least one paper in Mathematical Sciences (Statistics, Operational research, Mathematics, computer Science).

M.A. Political Science

  • B.A. Degree with 50% marks or any other graduate degree (Science/commerce/Engineering etc) with 60% marks from the recognized University/institution.

LL.M.

  • A three-year/five-year LL.B. Degree with 50% marks (45% marks for OBC/SC/ST category candidates).

Exam Pattern

  • The answers have to be marked on Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheet.
  • There will be separate subjects from which the questions will be asked, for each course.
  • The question paper for UG and PG courses will include objective type questions.
  • The duration of examination will be 2 hours.
  • 4 marks will be credited to each correct answer for UG courses and there is a negative marking for UG courses. For each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted.

Admit Card

  • In the last week of May 2018, admit card download link will be available.
  • Admit card will not be dispatched by post.
  • Admit card will be available online only on candidate’s registration account.
  • Along with the admit card, candidate have to bring one ID proof.

Exam Centers

DU UG/PG entrance exam will be conducted in six cities namely Kolkata, Nagpur, Bengaluru, Delhi, Jammu, and Varanasi.

Result

  • In the first week of July 2018, the result for UG and PG entrance exam will be declared (tentatively).
  • Candidates shortlisted in the written test will be called for interview/GD.
  • By considering candidate’s performance in entrance exam and interview/group discussion, Merit list will be drawn.

Answer Key

  • Within 24 hours from the conclusion of entrance examination, the answer key for UG and PG entrance exam will be uploaded.
  • From the official website of Delhi University, candidates can download the answer key.
  • Within 7 calender days from the declaration of result, candidates can also request OMR Response Sheet (ORS) by paying a fee of Rs. 500/- per paper.

DU Admission 2018 Cut Off

  • The cut-off for DU Admission will be decided by Delhi University.
  • For the UG courses for which entrance exam will not be held, Cut off will be released.
  • On the basis of marks obtained in the 12th examination, the cut-off list will be prepared.
  • Candidate’s securing the cut-off marks will be eligible for admission in the constituent colleges of DU.

Admission

  • Admission is carried out in the Delhi University based on the merit drawn on the basis of entrance test and interview/GD.
  • The 85% weightage will be provided to the Entrance test and 15% weightage to GD and Interview, for admission to BMS/B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics/BBA (FIA), etc.

Syllabus

  • The syllabus will be of graduation level of Delhi University, for PG courses.
  • The syllabus for UG courses will be basically based on the 11th and 12th standard.
  • Candidates are advised to follow the syllabus as prescribed by the University.


DU Admission 2018: Important Points

  • You will not be allowed to make changes later on.
  • You cannot change examination center of entrance exam after completing the online registration form.
  • Admit card will be provided through online mode only.
  • You can not submit the registration fee through Demand draft.
  • Exam pattern and syllabus are different for each course. You can check this in the information bulletin.
  • There is no need to send the hard copy of application form.
  • Only a single candidate can apply for the single account.
  • Candidates must be present along with the desired document on the day of admission.
