Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants, who are applying for UPSC SO/STENO Exam 2018 must be working in certain categories of the departmental candidates, working as Grade II or grade C stenographers and assistants or Cypher Assistants can quickly apply.

Selection Process

  • Candidates must have attained 40% marks in the valuation of record of Service.
  • Will not be counted for Ranking/Merit, in case, candidate has acquired lesser than 40% Marks in the evaluation of the record of Service.

  • General Knowledge and Machinery of Government and General Studies of Constitution of India, Practice and Procedures in Parliament and Knowledge of RTI Act, 2005.
  • This is an Objective Type Examination for 150 marks and all in all for 2 hours
  • Practice and Procedure in the Govt. of India Secretariat and attached offices and General Financial and Service Rules duly taking into account the requirement of relevant categories of services.
  • This will also be an Objective Type Examination for 150 marks and all in all take 2 hours duration
  • Drafting, Precise Writing, and Noting will be Subjective examination for 200 marks and duration will be for 3 hours
