NTA JEE Main 2020 Application Form

  • There will be no provision to fill the application form via offline mode.
  • The application form will be made available only via online mode.
  • Application forms will be released near about December 2019.
  • Candidate must have the adhaar card number or adhaar card enrollment number.
  • Candidates must keep a scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph as well as signature.
  • Fee for application form will be accepted via online mode: credit card, debit card, or e-challan.

Eligibility Criteria

Age criteria:

  • Candidate must fall on or after 01 October 1994 (for general candidates) and 01, October 1989 (for SC, ST and PWD category).
  • Relaxation of 5 years shall be offered in the upper age limit of SC/ST & PWD candidates (i.e. DOB must fall on or after 1st October 1989).

Qualification Criteria:

  • It is necessary for the candidates to clear standard 12th examination/ qualifying examination with the core 5 subjects in order to be eligible for JEE Main 2020.
  • Candidates must qualify the intermediate standard with PCM subjects.
  • Though there is no provision for minimum marks obtained, the candidate must have scored at least the passing marks.
  • Those who had passed or appeared in the higher secondary examination in 2019 and 2020 will also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing in the final examination of 12th in 2020 can also fill the JEE Main application form.
  • Diploma holders will be eligible to apply for JEE Main 2020 but only eligible for admission to IITs.
  • That means they are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced but the scores of JEE Main score will not be taken into consideration for admission.

Number of Attempts:

  • Attempts will be counted from the year 2019 onwards.
  • Applicants can attempt at least 3 times for clearing the JEE Main.
  • JEE Advanced will be conducted twice in a year so attempts will be maximum 2 times in consecutive years.

  • Mode of payment would be through DR/CR card/E-challan.
  • Candidates making payment through E-challan have to make the payment in Syndicate/ HDFC/ICICI/ Canara Bank in cash.


Exam Pattern

For JEE Main Paper-1

  • Paper-1 is conducted for admission to Tech / B.E.programmes.
  • Conducted through offline (PBT)as well as online (CBT) mode depending on the candidate’s preferences.
  • The paper-1 will comprise of PCM subjects.
  • Total questions 90 which carry of 360 marks. 30 questions will be put from each subject.
  • The duration of the examination will be of 3 hours.
  • The objective types question will be there.
  • The medium of the question paper will be in English & Hindi.
  • The choice for question paper must be decided while filling up the application form.
  • +4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong response.

For JEE Main Paper-2:

  • Paper-2 is conducted for admission to Arch/B.Planning programme.
  • It’ll be Offline (PBT)
  • 30 questions will be asked from Mathematics (Part-1), 50 questions in aptitude test (Part-2) and 2 questions in the drawing which comprises of total 390 marks.
  • Mathematics and Aptitude test section will contain objective type questions and drawing test will be subjective in nature.
  • The medium of the question paper will be in English & Hindi.
  • The choice for question paper must be decided while filling up the application form.
  • The duration of the examination will be of 3 hours.
  • +4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong response.

NTA JEE Main 2019 Admit card

  • The admission ticket will be issued only through online mode.
  • The admit cards will be released approximately in the month of March 2020.
  • It will contain all the necessary information like exam schedule, centre details, instruction, roll number, and so on.

NTA JEE Main 2019 Answer Key

  • Answer key for both the papers will be released in the month of April 2020 which comprises of response sheets.
  • Candidates who are unsatisfied with the answers answer key can challenge the answer key by paying Rs-1000/- per question.
