UPSC CDS application form for Exam 1st will be started on 28 October 2020. The closing date to apply for the examination is 17 November 2020, hence the applicants are advised to fill their applications on or before the last date of applications. The application forms have to be filled only through online mode from the official website. The application fee for the examination can be paid either through online or offline mode.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicants must be an Indian national to apply for the examination.
  • The applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
  • Married applicants will not be eligible to apply for CDS.

Age limit for CDS I

For IMA—Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2003.

For Indian Naval Academy— Unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and not later than 1st January 2003.

For Air Force Academy— 20 to 24 years as on 1st January 2021(born not earlier than 2nd January 1998 and
not later than 1st January 2002).
Note: The upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot Licence issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 yrs. i.e. (born not earlier than 2nd January 1996 and not later than 1st January 2002).

For Officers’ Training Academy— (SSC Course for men) unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January 1997 and not later than 1st January 2003.

For Officers’ Training Academy—(SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. born not earlier than 2nd January 1997 and not later than 1st January 2003.

Steps to apply for CDSE 2021

The CDS application form has to be filled only through online mode. Here are the steps are given below to help the applicants to fill their application forms for CDS.

Part I (Registration)

  • Visit the official website of UPSC and search for a link “Click here for Part I Registration”.
  • Once you find the link, click on this link.
  • The application form will be available on the screen. Now you need to enter the genuine details as required in the application form such as
    1. Applicant’s name
    2. Gender
    3. Category
    4. Father’s name
    5. Mother’s name
    6. Nationality
    7. % of marks, board/university, etc. of the qualifying degree.
    8. Contact details.
  • Now the applicants will have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 200 for the general category.
  • Once you have done with all the formalities of Part I (Registration) then click on submit and proceed to the next step of Part II (Payment of application fee).

Part II (Payment of application fee)

  • Once again login to the official website of UPSC to complete the Part II (payment of application fee) process. “Click here for Part 2 Registration”
  • Once you enter the website, find the link for Part II of the registration.
  • When you get the link, click on it and enter your registration ID & DOB for uploading the documents.
  • Now upload the scanned images of your photograph & signature in the specified format.
  • Now finally click on submit to complete the application process.

 CDS Application fee

  • For general applicants the application fee/registration fee is Rs. 200/-.
  • The female & reserved category applicants will be exempted from the application fee.
  • The application fee can be paid either through online or offline mode.

Important points related to CDS Application Form 2021

  • The applicants should submit only one application, however, if in any case more than one application has been filled then he/she must ensure that application with higher RID is completed in all aspects such as applicant’s details, photograph, signature, etc.
  • If you will submit more than one application, only one application will be accepted with higher RID. The application fee paid against one RID will not be adjusted in any other RID.
  • All the applications whether working or not have to submit their applications online direct to UPSC.
  • The applicants working in the Armed Forces have to inform their Commanding Officer in writing that they have applied for this examination. They also have to submit NOC at the time of SSB interview.
  • The applicants must note that in case the communication is received from their employer by UPSC withholding permission to applicants applying for/appearing at the examination then their applications will be canceled.
  • The applicants do not have to submit documents such as age proof, educational qualification, category certificates, etc.
  • If the applicants found not to fulfill any of the eligibility criteria at any point in time then the candidature of that applicant will be canceled by UPSC.
  • The applicants selected for SSB interview have to carry their original certificates of 10th/12th standard and also their degree/provisional degree certificate/marks sheet to take part in the interview.
  • The appearing applicants of the qualifying examination must have to carry a certificate in original from the Principal of the college stating that the applicant has appeared/appearing in the final year of his degree examination.

    • Ya of course u can apply for cds. Maximum age requirement is 25 . Even I m applying for cds and my DOB is similar to ur DOB .. good luck

  21. Sir we applied for cds exam which is held at feb4 2018 for OTA… Sir plzz tell us that which book we have to follow to Crack the cds exam. There is no book without mathematics… Plz suggest book that is useful for us

  24. Does CDS Form fill once in a year? is there no other option to fill CDS form in 2018 and will appear for the test which will conduct in September?
