KAS An Overview

KPSC stands for Karnataka Public Service Commission. This is the main authority that conducts exams for Karnataka Administrative Services. The candidate who will pass this test will become a civil service officer for the state of Karnataka. These exams are conducted to find a best-fit candidate to serve the state and therefore there are 3 rounds for the selection process which is the preliminary, mains, and personal interview round.

KPSC 2023 Application Form

The process to fill out the application form is given below. The candidates should check the step by step process to fill out the application form:

  • Visit the official website kpsc.kar.nic.in
  • Once you visit the website, click on KPSC recruitment and register yourself with a valid email id or phone number
  • Login Id and password will be generated through which you have to log in to the site
  • After logging in, fill out all the information asked in the form
  • Upload all the documents required including scanned photograph and signature of the candidate
  • After successfully filling out the form, the candidate should pay the application fee using a debit/credit card or net banking.
  • After reviewing the application form, submit the form
  • Don’t forget to take out the printout for future use

The application fee for candidates belonging to the general category is INR 500/- whereas candidates who belong to SC/ST or OBC cast, the application fee is INR 250/- and for candidates from PwD are exempted from any application fee.

Eligibility Criteria

There is a certain eligibility criterion a candidate must pass before applying for KAS 2023:

  • The candidates who are applying for the KAS exam must have age between 21 to 35 years
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories like SC/ST and OBC have an age limit till 40 years
  • The candidate must be a graduate from any stream from any authorized university
  • The candidate should be either from Karnataka or must be familiar with the Kannada language.

KPSC 2023 Exam Pattern

The selection process will be in 3 parts: the preliminary, the main, and the personal interview. The candidate who passes all 3 rounds of selection will be selected for Karnataka Administrative Services

Round 1: Preliminary exam

  • The preliminary exam will consist of 2 exams and both exam will be conducted offline.
  • Objective-type questions will be asked in both the exams and two hours will be given to complete each exam.

Round 2: Mains Exam

The main exam consists of 9 papers that have descriptive-type questions. The candidate must appear for every paper to clear the KPSC exam.

Round 3: Personal Interview

  • After clearing the above 2 rounds, the candidate must go through the personal interview round to get selected for Karnataka civil services.
  • There is no particular genre or subject from which the questions will be asked. The interviewer may ask random questions to check the knowledge of the candidate.
  • The interview rounds are one of the toughest rounds to clear for civil services, so the candidates must prepare themselves before they enter into a personal interview round.

The candidate who has appeared for the personal interview round can check the result through the official website of KPSC. The authority soon releases the merit list on their Official page. The candidates can log in through their application number and password to check the result.

The merit list for KPSC is created keeping in mind the overall performance of the candidate. And once the candidate gets selected, he is allotted the position for which he/she may have applied after the documents verification process.
