UP PCS 2023: Candidates, who want to begin their careers as civil servants, can apply for the UP PSC PCS examination. For the various vacancies in Provincial Civil services (PCS), the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) publishes the notification for the candidates. UPPSC issues the notification for the posts of civil; servants every year. Candidates will be appointed in various departments of the state government of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates who qualify for the preliminary exam will be eligible to give an examination of Mains. There will be an interview conducted with 100 marks. Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • They must have the domicile of Uttar Pradesh also.
  • The age of the candidates must be between 21 years and 40 years.
  • Relaxation in the upper age will be provided to the candidates of the reserved category.

Through Written Examination and Interview

  • Sub Registrar, Assistant Prosecuting Officer (Transport): Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB)
  • Horticulture officer Group-2 Grade-1: Bachelor Degree in Science B.Sc Agriculture AG / Horticulture
  • District Basic Shiksha Adhikari / Associate DIOS and Other equivalent administrative posts, District Administrative Officer: Master Degree in Any Subject in Any Recognized University in India.
  • Statistical Officer: Master’s Degree in Mathematics or Mathematical Statistics or Statistics or Agricultural Statistics.
  • District Audit Officer (Revenue Audit): Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce B.Com Degree in Any Recognized University in India.
  • Assistant Labour Commissioner: Bachelor’s Degree in Arts with Sociology or Economics as a subject or Commerce/Law.
  • District Programme Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology or Social Science or Home Science or Social Work.
  • Senior Lecturer, DIET: Master Degree in Any Subject with B.Ed Exam Passed in Any Recognized University in India.
  • District Probation Officer: Master Degree Degree in Psychology or Sociology or Social Work or any qualification equivalent thereto or PG Diploma in any branch of Social Work from any recognized Institute of Social Work.

Through Written Examination and Interview

  • Designated Officer / Food Safety Officer: Master Degree in Chemistry as one of the subjects OR At least one of the qualifications prescribed for direct recruitment to the Post of Food Safety Officer given as below
  • Bachelors Degree in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or Biotechnology OR Oil Technology or Agricultural Science OR Veterinary Sciences or Bio-Chemistry OR Microbiology OR Post Graduate Degree in Chemistry OR Degree in Medicine from a recognized University OR any other equivalent/recognized
  • Labour Enforcement Officer: Bachelor Degree with Economics or Sociology or commerce and Post Graduate Diploma or Postgraduate Degree in Law / Labour relation / Labour welfare / Labour Law / Commerce / Sociology / Social work / Social welfare / Trade Management / Personnel Management.
  • Extension Service officer Group-2: Sc or B.Sc. (Ag.) followed by a 15-month Post-graduate Diploma Course OR 3 years Diploma in Hotel Management and Catering from a recognized Institute, OR M.Sc. in Food Technology. OR M.Sc. Degree in Horticulture, with special paper in Food Processing.
  • District Cane Officer, U.P. Agriculture Service Group “B” (Development Branch): Bachelor Degree in Science B.Sc Agriculture in Any Recognized University in India.
  • Assistant Controller Legal Measurement (Grade-I) / Assistant Controller Legal Measurement (Grade-II): Bachelor Degree in Science (Physics) OR Mechanical Engineer Degree.

Through Written Examination

  • Tax Assessment Officer: Bachelor Degree in Commerce or Economics with 55% marks
  • Law officer (Public Works Department, Geology and Mining Department): Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a university established by law in India. Registration in the concerned Bar Council
  • Law Officer (Mandi Parisad): Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a university established by law in India. Registration in the concerned Bar Council. 5 Year Advocate Practice.
  • Account and Audit Officer (Mandi Parisad): Bachelor Degree in Commerce with Accountancy as one of the subjects and having at least five years of experience in Accounts work
  • Marketing Officer/Secretary Group-II (Mandi Parisad): Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agriculture Marketing, Science, Commerce, Economics or Agriculture Economics.
  • Veterinary and Welfare Officer: Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Science (B.V.Sc. and A.H.) or equivalent degree recognized by the Government
  • Senior Sugarcane Development Inspector: Master’s Degree in Agriculture Science and CCC Certificate in Computer Operation.

UP PCS 2023 Selection Process

  • The very first stage of the examination will be of Preliminary examination.
  • The next stage of the examination will be the main examination.
  • Only after cracking the preliminary stage of the examination, candidates will be eligible for the main examination.
  • The last but not least stage of the examination is the interview.

Exam Pattern

Preliminary Exam

  • The Preliminary examination will constitute two question papers.
  • The question paper will be of objective in nature.
  • Each question for the CSAT exam will be of 2.5 marks.
  • For General Study, Each question will be of 2 marks.
  • There will be negative marking i.e. 1/3rd marks will be deducted for every wrong response Preliminary examination.

Interview

  • The interview will be conducted with 100 marks.
  • The total marks including the Interview will be 1500 + 100 = 1600 Marks.
  • There is no such specific pattern and syllabus of the interview.
  • Candidates must be aware of their surroundings, state, and should have a good knowledge of contemporary issues.
  • Candidates should be communicative during the interview and must keep their views openly before the interview board.

PAPER – I General Studies-I (200 marks); Duration: 2hrs

  • Current events of national and international importance.
  • History of India and Indian National Movement.
  • Indian and World Geography – Physical, Social, and Economic geography of India and the World.
  • General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity, and Climate Change- that do not require subject spec
  • Indian Polity and Governance – Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights issues etc.
  • Economic and Social Development – Sustainable Development Poverty Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.

Detailed Topics

  • Current events of national and international importance: – candidates should have good knowledge about Current Events of National and International importance,
  • History of India and Indian National Movement: – In the Indian National Movement, the candidates are expected to have a synoptic view of nature and the character of the freedom movement. In History, emphasis should be on the broad understanding of economic, social, and political aspects of Indian history( growth of nationalism and attainment of Independence).
  • Indian and World Geography: – Physical, Social, and Economic geography of India and the World involves World Geography only general understanding related to the Physical, Social & Economic Geography of India.
  • Indian Polity and Governance:- Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc:- In Indian Polity, candidate economic and culture, questions will be tested, country’s political system including Panchayati Raj and Community Development and some special features of Economic policy in India and Indian Culture.
  • Economic and Social Development: – Poverty, Inclusion, Sustainable Development, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc:- The candidates will be tested with respect to problems and relationship between Population, Urbanization, and Environment. General issues on Environmental ecology, Climate Change & Bio-diversity –which do not require subject specialization. Only General awareness of the subject will be required and expected from the candidates.
  • General Science: – Will cover general appreciation and understanding of Science including matters of everyday observation and experience, as may be expected of a well-educated person, who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline.

Geometry:-

  • Constructions and theorems, rectangle, square, trapezium and circles, their perimeter and area, regarding the triangle
  • Volume and surface area of the sphere, right circular cylinder, right circular Cone and Cube.

Statistics:- Collection of data, Classification of data, tabulation, cumulative frequency, frequency distribution.Representation of data – Measures of Central tendency: Arithmetic mean, Median and Mode, Pie chart, Bar diagram, histogram, frequency polygon, cumulative frequency curves (ogives)
