About Farm University

The Government of Karnataka established 5 farm universities with a view to impart quality agricultural education in Karnataka. the five universities include the University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore, Dharwad, Raichur, Bagalkot, Shivamogga.

Eligibility criteria

Masters Degree program

  • A bachelor’s degree from any recognized Agricultural/ Horticultural university or deemed university accredited by ICAR.
  • A bachelor’s degree from any ICAR accredited Farm University in Karnataka.
  • The above qualification should be passed with a minimum of 6.5 OGPA, For SC/ST candidates minimum OFPA is 6.0.
  • The character and conduct certificate of the candidate is required issued by the dean of the constituent colleges of their farm universities.

Doctoral degree programs

  • A master’s degree in the equivalent subject or equivalent qualification from an Agricultural/ Horticultural university or any deemed university accredited by ICAR.
  • The above qualification should be passed with a minimum OGPA of 2.50/4.00 (Trimester system). For SC/ST Candidates the minimum OGPA IS 2.00/4.00
  • Candidates are required to compulsorily submit the equivalent marks certificate (master’s degree) obtained from their respective universities, who have studied under the Trimester system and are seeking admission IN doctoral degree programs.

Common Qualification

  • Horanadu/ Gadinadu Kannadigas should possess a degree from an Agricultural/ Horticultural university or any deemed university accredited by ICAR from the eligible geographical region as per GoK orders.

CMAFFU Karnataka Admission 2023

On the official website of the university, the official authority will release the application forms in online mode. Candidates are instructed to register after visiting the official website of the university themselves and create a new id on the official website. Download the information bulletin and read it carefully. At the time of filing the application for applicants should enter the necessary details and fill the application form correctly. Upload scanned images of photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression, and self-declaration. Take a printout of the duly filled application form.

Application Fee

  • For the general category or OBC category Applicants are instructed to pay Rs 1500/- as an application fee.
  • For the Reserved category applicants are instructed to pay Rs 750/.
  • However, for those applicants who studied in another state than Karnataka, the application fee is Rs 1500/.
  • Through the online mode, candidates can pay the application fee or pay the application fee by any of the payment gateway methods such as debit card, credit card or net banking.

Exam Pattern

  • Solve the entire paper of the entrance exam within 75 minutes.
  • In the entrance exam, the question paper of the entrance exam will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
  • The entrance exam will consist of a maximum of 100 questions.
  • Through the offline mode, the entrance exam will be conducted– a written test (pen and paper-based test).

Admission Process

The merit list will be prepared on 2 bases.

General Candidates

  • Weightage for performance in qualifying degree: 50 percent
  • Weightage for performance in Entrance Examination: 50 percent

Special category candidates

  • Seats reserved for the special category are on the basis of university intake
  • 5 % of the seats are reserved for the differently-abled/ PH category
  • 2.5 % of the seats are reserved for children of Ex-servicemen (EXS), Defense Personnel (DEF).
