CSJMU PhD Admission 2023: CSJMU Kanpur University invites applications for Ph.D. courses in various disciplines. Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University is a public state university located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.  A master’s degree holder can apply for these programs. As per the candidates’ score in CSJMUET conducted at the university-level, the admission will be offered followed by an interview round for the shortlisted candidates. The application form of CSJMU PhD Admission can be filled online from the official website followed by submission to the given address. The entrance exam is usually conducted in the month of May every year. The qualified candidates of GATE/ CSIR NET/ DST-INSPIRE/ ICAR/ ICMR/ UGC NET/ SLET are exempted from CSJMUET. However, these candidates need to appear in the interview round only.

Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate must possess a Master’s degree in Science (Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or any stream) or equivalent from a recognized university to apply for CSJMU Ph.D. Admission.
• A minimum of 55% marks in aggregate are required in the above qualification (50% for reserved categories).

Reservation Criteria

• According to the Uttar Pradesh Government rules, the seats will be reserved for candidates.
• The Reserved category candidates must attach their attested true copy of the reservation certificate with the application form
• The vacant seats of the ST category shall be transferred to the SC category and the vacant seats of the SC category shall be transferred to the OBC category.

Exemptions from the Entrance Test (CSJMUET)

• Permanent Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, and Professors working in the teaching departments of CSJMU or a government college / aided college affiliated to the university with an experience of at least Two years of uninterrupted service.
• International students (including NRIs) are eligible for admission to Kanpur University.
• Candidates with research grants such as fellowship/scholarship/associateship etc. from UGC(NET-JRF)/ CSIR(NET-JRF)/ GATE-MHRD/ Teacher Fellowship/ DBT/ ICMR/ICAR/DST-INSPIRE/SLET.
• Candidates with a minimum GATE Score of 95 Percentile
• Serving Army, Navy and Air-force Officers of at least Colonel or equivalent rank with not less than 15 years of service (for the PhD degree in Defence and Strategic Studies)

Application Form of CSJMU PhD Admission 2023

Candidates can fill the online application form of CSJMU PhD Admission 2023 the official website of Kanpur University. Pay the application fee to complete the form. Upload the desired documents in JPG format. Send the duly filled application form along with the desired documents to the official address.

List of Enclosures to be sent with the application form

• 10th/ 12th/ UG and PG Marks sheets

• Mark sheet of previous semester(s) for candidates appearing in the qualifying degree exam

Application Fee

• The application fee for Ph.D. Admission will be INR 1500.
• The reserved category candidates will pay INR 1000 as an application fee.
• The fee can be paid by Credit/ Debit Card/ Net-Banking or Challan.

Admission Process

• Admission is based on the marks in CSJMUET followed by an interview round.
• The entrance test will consist of MCQs of 4 marks each.
• The maximum marks will be 400.
• Candidates have to secure at least 50% marks to qualify the entrance test.
• There will be a negative marking of one mark for a wrong attempt.
