Doon University Admission 2023 Application Form

Get the application form along with prospectus online from the official website at www.doonuniversity.org. Read the important instructions carefully before filling up the online form. A candidate may participate in the entrance exam for a maximum of 3 different educational courses. Refer to the entrance test schedule, if you are selecting more than one course for the admission entrance exam. The candidate must take a print out of the form after successful submission and keep it safe for future reference. The application form will be used at the time of the entrance test and admission process.

Eligibility Criteria

For UG Courses

  • B.Sc. (Hons)/ M.Sc. (integrated): 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology and from a recognized Board of education with 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand) and the same criteria but with Economics as a subject.
  • B.A.(Hons)/ M.A. (integrated): 10+2 in any subject from a recognized Board of education with 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand)
  • B.Lib. Sc.: 10+2 in any subject from a recognized Board of education with 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand)
  • B.Des.: 10+2 in any subject from a recognized Board of education with 50 % marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand)

For PG Courses

For M.A.

  • Graduate in any stream of Arts, Social Sciences, Humanities with English as an elective subject from a UGC recognized University is required with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
  • Graduate in any stream with Spanish or German or Chinese or Japanese or French as an elective subject or a diploma in any of these languages from a UGC recognized University is required with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).

For M.Sc. Environmental Science

  • Graduate in basic or applied sciences from a UGC recognized University is required with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).
  • Graduate with mathematics as one of the subjects

For M.Li.Sc.

  • A bachelor of Library and Information Science from a UGC recognized University is required with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand).

For M.Tech in Environmental Technology

  • 50% minimum marks in M.Sc. in Environmental Science or basic or applied science from a UGC recognized University is required with 50% marks (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand) OR
  • B.Tech. in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Microbiology, Biotechnology and allied Engineering disciplines

For M.Phil & Ph.D. Courses

  • For Ph.D.: A Masters’ Degree from a recognized University or equivalent OGPA in the respective subject is required.
  • For Ph.D. in Media & communication: JRF in Mass Communication or candidate with two years’ teaching/research experience or should hold an M.Phil degree in Mass Communication with one research paper published in a refereed journal.
  • M.Phil-Ph.D. Economics: 55% minimum aggregate in economics while pursuing a Master’s in Economics, Commerce, Management, Mathematics, Statistics. (45% for SC/ST from Uttarakhand)

Application Fee

  • Candidates have to pay a fee of Rs. 800/- at the time of online application submission.
  • The application fee will be Rs. 400/- for candidates from the SC/ST category of Uttarakhand only.
  • Payment needs to be completed online only
  • Once the fee is submitted, it will not be refunded under any situation.
  • Applicants are needed to pay the prescribed fee for each course individually.

Selection Process

  • B.A.(Hons)/ M.A. (integrated)/ B.Sc. (Hons)/ M.Sc. (integrated): Based on the performance in the entrance test
  • B.Lib. Sc.: Entrance Test followed by an Interview
  • B.Des.: On the basis of the score of the entrance test.
  • M.A.: Students will be selected on the basis of written test cum oral test followed by an interview round or group discussion (GD).
  • M.Sc. Environmental Science and Mathematics and M.Li.Sc.: On the basis of the entrance test followed by an interview.
  • M.Tech in environmental Technology: Entrance Test and interview (Interview exempted for candidates having valid GATE score)
  • Ph.D.: Candidates with valid entrance score (conducted by Doon University) or a valid score in JRF will be selected for the Ph.D. programme followed by an interview.
  • Ph.D. in Media & communication: Students with good JRF score are eligible to apply along with an interview round.
  • M.Phil-Ph.D. Economics: Students have to qualify in the entrance test conducted by the University followed by an interview.

Admit Card

  • The admit card shall be made available on the official website.
  • Applicants can download/take a print out of the admit card.
  • Candidate should bring the Admit Card and Aadhaar Card at the test center.
  • Candidates who possess a valid Admit Card shall be permitted to take the Entrance test

Entrance Test Centres

  • Dehradun, Haridwar, Srinagar (U.K.), Almora, Patna, Nanita, Haldwani, New Delhi, Lucknow

Result

  • Results and merit lists shall be displayed on the University’s website as well as on Notice Boards.
  • Intimation shall be sent to the shortlisted and selected applicants for admission.
  • For the General Category and Reservation Categories, there shall be a separate Merit list.
  • Selected applicants should report for admission counselling otherwise he/she shall automatically forfeit his/her right to admission.

Counselling

  • Candidates should bring a print out of the merit list/intimation along with original documents and attested copies at the time of admission counselling.

Documents required during Counselling

  • High School/Higher Secondary School Certificate.
  • Proof of passing the qualifying examination.
  • Transfer Certificate/Migration Certificate. (to be submitted in original)
  • Character and Conduct Certificate from the institution last attended.
  • Two passport size photographs for the identity card.
  • Attested copy of MAT Scorecard (for 2 year MBA Programme only)
  • Proof of entitlement for a particular reservation category.
  • Certificate from a Government Hospital/Civil Surgeon/ Government Doctor about the Blood Group / Medical Fitness Certificate.
  • Submit Hostel Admission Form, if require Hostel accommodation.
  • Domicile Certificate/Mool Niwas PramanPatra.
  • Permanent Address Certificate/Aadhar Card.
  • Fill Anti Ragging Affidavits online.
  • The student should submit a hard copy of the Affidavit to the University/ School Administration.
