CLAT 2024: Common-Law Admission Test is the well-known law entrance exam organized for the candidates seeking admission in integrated LL.B. and LL.M. programs. CLAT Scores are considered by various governments undertaking colleges & private law colleges across India. Candidates can fill & submit the application form of CLAT 2024 online only. CLAT 2024 Important Dates

The release of the Online Application Form 1st week of January 2024
Last date of Application Submission along with the order of preferences for NLUs 4th week of March 2024

Eligibility Criteria

There are separate eligibility criteria for candidates seeking admission to LLB and LLM programs. Candidates can go through the criterion is given below to check if they can fill the CLAT Form.

For CLAT LLB Programmes

  • Age Limit: Candidate must be less than 20 years old as of 1st July 2024 and 22 years old in case of SC/ST. 
  • Academic Qualification: The candidate must have passed 10+2  or any equivalent examination.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2024 are also eligible to appear in the CLAT exam. The candidates must convert their grades (if any) into a percentage for appearing in CLAT 2024.

For CLAT LLM Programmes

  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for the candidates appearing in CLAT 2024 to pursue post-graduate programs. Thus, candidates of all ages are eligible to give the examination.
  • Academic Qualification: The candidate must have an LLB or any other equivalent degree.
  • Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April 2024 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2024  examination. However, they shall be required to show a hard copy of the proof of their passing the qualifying examination in the respective National Law Universities at the time of admission.

NOTE: Candidate must be an Indian citizen and NRIs. Candidates who have cleared 12th with compartment, they can also apply for this exam.

CLAT 2024 Application Form

CLAT 2024 Application form will be available from 1st week of January 2024. After that candidates can apply for CLAT 2024.  Those candidates belong to GEN/OBC/SAP (Specially Abled Persons) Category, They need to pay Rs. 4000/– as application fee. For SC/ST Candidates it will be Rs. 3500/– only. CLAT 2024 Application fee can be paid either online or e-Challan.

CLAT Syllabus

The appearing applicants for CLAT 2024 must check the examination syllabus before they start their preparation. The examination syllabus of CLAT covers all the sections of English, GK, Current Affairs, Mathematics, Legal Aptitude, Logical Reasoning. The GK & Current Affairs sections include 50 marks each, whereas the English section including comprehension, logical reasoning consists of 40 marks each. The mathematics section will have 20 marks.

Examination Pattern

For UG Courses:

The test will be conducted for 2 hours. There will be a total of 200 multiple answer-type questions. For each accurate answer, you will get one mark and for each wrong answer, 1/4th mark will be deducted.

For PG Courses:

There will be 150 multiple choice questions in this test. Candidates need to finish this test in a duration of 2 hours. For each accurate answer, you will get one mark and for each wrong answer, ¼ marks will be deducted.

CLAT Admit Card 2024

The admit cards for CLAT 2024 examination will be available online from April 2024 on the official website. The applicants are advised to bring the ID proof along with admit card at the examination center. The admit card will have all the important details related to the examination such as examination date & time, examination center, applicant’s name, roll number, applicant’s signature, thumb impression, etc.

CLAT 2024 Counseling

CLAT Counseling will start from June 2024 (tentative). Candidate, where they want to take admission, must indicate their NLUs preference online. Admission will be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference and there will be a centralized admission process for CLAT 2024.
