Kerala SET 2024: LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram conducts Kerala State Eligibility Test (Kerala SET 2024) for the candidates to be selected as Higher Secondary School Teachers and Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE. For appointment as Higher Secondary School Teachers in the State, a pass in the Kerala SET 2024 is stipulated as a mandatory requirement as per the Special Rules in force.

Eligibility Criteria

• To apply for Kerala SET 2024, a Master’s Degree in the subjects concerned with not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade will be the required qualification.
• A B.Ed. degree in any discipline from any one of the universities in Kerala or from any other university recognized as equivalent will also be the required qualification.

Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry	MSc.Ed Degree in the subjects concerned or equivalent grade from a recognized institute. The above qualification should be passed with at least 50% marks.
Botany and Zoology	MSc.Ed Degree in Life Science from any one of the Regional Institutes of Education are also eligible. The above qualification should be passed with at least 50% marks.
Geology, Home Science, Philosophy, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics	B.Ed. Degree
Journalism, Latin, Music, Russian, Commerce, French, German, Syriac	B.Ed. Degree
Latin	Degree in any discipline from a recognized university with Latin as their Second Language with not less than 50% marks. A Master’s Degree with at least 50% marks in any discipline.

• Candidates having D.L.Ed./LTTC in Arabic, Urdu, and Hindi but do not have B.Ed Degree are also eligible.
• Candidates are not eligible if having Correspondence Courses/Open Universities which are not recognized by any one of the Universities in Kerala.
• Recognized correspondence courses/Open universities candidates are eligible.
• SC/ST category candidates shall be granted a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum marks.
• No age limit is prescribed for candidates appearing for the SET.

Application Fee

• Candidates will be required to submit the application form and fee online mode.
• The mode of payment shall only be paid through online mode.
• The application fee shall be 750/- for General/OBC candidates.
• The application fee shall be 375/- for SC/ ST/Differently abled candidates.
• The candidates can pay the examination fee either by credit/debit card/Net Banking or other modes provided on the website.
• Cash/Money Order/ Cheque will not be accepted.
• The application fee will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Exam Pattern

• There shall be two papers for the Kerala SET 2024.
• Paper I is common for all candidates.
• The exam consists of two parts A and B.
• Part A will be General Knowledge and Part B will be Aptitude in Teaching.
• The questions of both papers shall be objective in nature.
• The duration of the Test shall be 120 minutes for each paper.
• For each correct response, the candidates will be awarded 1 mark on both Papers.
• No marks shall be deducted for incorrect answers.
• For Paper I with 60 questions each for Part A and Part B. Each question shall carry one mark.
• Paper II shall be based on the subject of specialization of the candidate at the Post Graduate (PG) Level.
• There shall be 120 questions carrying one mark each.
• For Mathematics and Statistics, there shall be only 80 questions.
• Each correct response will be awarded 1.5 marks for Mathematics and Statistics.

Documents Required

• Filled in the application form for SET Certificate.
• Copies of Provisional/Original Certificate and Marklist of PG Degree attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Copies of Provisional/Original Certificate of B.Ed Degree attested by a Gazetted Officer
• Recognition and Equivalency Certificate from any one of the Universities in Kerala, if applicable.
• Original of the Caste/Category certificate of the candidate eligible for a relaxation of minimum marks for a pass.
