Maharashtra Scholarships 2024
VJNT Scholarship
VJNT stands for Vimukta Jati Nomadic Tribes aka as Other Backward Class and Special Backward Class Welfare Scholarship. This is a scheme run by the Social Justice and Special Help Department Maharashtra. It supports the education of the students belonging to the backward classes residing in the state of Maharashtra.
Thus, the students of the SC, OBC, SBC, VJNT category who have passed class X are eligible for the VJNT scholarship 2024. Thus, the shortlisted candidates under the VJNT Scholarship Maharashtra are awarded an amount ranging from Rs.230 pm to Rs. 1200 pm. The amount of scholarship is based upon the caste and family annual income, i.e. between Rs. 1 lakh to 4.5 lakhs per annum.
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship
Social Welfare Commissionerate Office, Maharashtra provides the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship to the SC and ST category students. Plus, the candidates must have a domicile certificate from Maharashtra to apply for this scholarship. Besides this, the family income of the applicant must not be more than 4.50 lakhs per annum.
Under this scheme, the scholars receive an amount of INR 10,000 per annum for books, educational instruments, and it also covers tuition fees, hostel, and mess charges as well.
National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)
NCERT organizes an annual scholarship examination every year. It is conducted in two stages. The first stage is conducted at the state level, where the NTSE is conducted by the SCERT of the respective states.
All the students who are in class 10th in the 2024-22 academic year are eligible to apply for NTSE 2024. Thus, the aspiring students can obtain the application form for the same from the Liaison officer. Besides this, the form will also be sent to the schools, so that students can get it from there only. Lastly, the shortlisted candidates will receive an amount of Rs. 1250/- pm in the higher secondary levels. Further, it will eventually increase in the future classes.
NMMS Scholarship
NMMS stands for National Means Merit Cum Scheme where the scholarship is offered by the MHRD India. Under this scheme, the students of class VIII can apply and appear for the examination. Thereafter, the shortlisted candidates will be granted an amount of Rs. 500/- per month (Rs 6000/- per annum). However, there are certain eligibility criteria for the applicants of NMMS 2024 to appear in the examination, as given below:
- The applicant must have scored at least 60% marks in class 7th.
- Also, the annual income of his/ her family must be less than Rs 1.50 lakhs.
So, the candidates interested in NMMS 2024 can apply for the scholarship by obtaining the application form from their schools or the State Nodal Officer. Besides this, the application forms are also available at the nearest MHRD office.
AMS Scholarship 2024
The Department of Higher and Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra sponsors a scheme of AMS Scholarship. This scholarship scheme is open for the students of class XI to graduation. The selection of candidates for the AMS Scholarship 2024 is done on a merit basis. So, the candidate must have gained at least 50% marks in the junior-level examination.
Therefore, the shortlisted candidates under AMS Scholarship 2024 will be granted an amount of Rs. 1600 PA to Rs 2300 PA depending on their merit.
DTE Maharashtra Scholarship 2024
The State Government of Maharashtra organizes the DTE Maharashtra Scholarship 2024 for students of financially weaker backgrounds. Hence, a written examination is conducted for shortlisting candidates for this scholarship. So the aspirants must visit the official website of the DTE Maharashtra.
