Eligibility Criteria
- A Master Degree in the respective discipline or equivalent with a minimum of 60% of marks.
- A Bachelor’s Degree with 60% of marks or equivalent CGPA.
- The master’s degree could be an Engineering/ Technology/Sciences/ Management/ Humanities/ Social Sciences.
For Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship (TRF)
- A Master Degree in the respective discipline with 70% marks or equivalent CGPA.
- A Bachelor’s Degree with a 60% of marks or equivalent CGPA.

Candidates can apply for admission by visiting the NSIT website www.imsnsit.org or apply through the direct link given on this page. Read all the admission related information provided on the official website carefully. Generate Your New Application Number and Password. Login and fill the registration form with Basic info and upload Photo, Signature and Thumb Impression in Upload photo tab. Pay Application Fee of Rs.1000.00/- from the payment tab. Take a print Application Form after making payment.
Admission Procedure of NSIT Ph.D Admission 2023
- There will be an Entrance Test and an Interview to admit the Research Scholars in the two-stage process.
- Only those candidates who have secured a minimum qualifying mark of 50% in the entrance test shall be called for an interview.
- The relative weightage of the entrance test and the interview shall be 70% and 30% (including 10% weightage on credentials) respectively.
- The eligible candidates are required to make a PowerPoint presentation of approximately 10 minutes in the area of their research interest/ teaching interest.
Interview Process
- The Interview Committee shall judge the following:
- The candidate possesses aptitude and competence to carry out the research in the intended area.
- The proposed research idea can be suitably undertaken in the Department and may contribute to the creation of new/additional knowledge in the chosen area.
For Teaching-cum-Research Fellowship (TRF)
- The committee shall also judge the teaching ability of the candidates in addition to the parameters as prescribed above.
- Interview for Teaching–cum-Research Fellowship and all other candidates shall be organized separately.
For Candidates from R&D Organizations/Institutions/PSUs/Industries
- Such candidates having MOU(s) with Netaji Subhas University of Technology
- They may be exempted from the entrance examination and can be called directly for the interview.
- The applicant should have at least two years’ experience in regular capacity.
- He/She can devote sufficient time to pursue research in the concerned Department of the NSIT on daily basis or sufficient facilities for research are available at the applicant’s place of work in the chosen field of research provided the same is approved by the BRS as his/her second place of work.
- He/she shall be required to reside at the NSIT till the completion of his/her course work.
- For the candidate working in the Delhi NCR, this condition of minimum residence shall be automatically waived off.
For regular faculty members of NSUT/any Institution of Government of NCT of Delhi
- Such candidates may be exempted from the entrance examination and may be called directly for the interview.
- These candidates shall be admitted against supernumerary seats.
- They have to submit the NOC from the competent authority of the respective Institution.
