UCEED 2024: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay conducts Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) under the guidance of the UCEED Admissions committee. UCEED for admission to Master of Design (MDes) and Ph.D. Programmes. It is a national level entrance examination conducted in both online and offline modes. Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who have passed or appearing their class 12th exam from any stream (Humanities, Commerce, Science).
- A candidate can appear for the exam for a maximum number of two attempts and in consecutive years only.
- Candidates born on or after October 1, 1997, for Open or OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1992, for SC, ST or PWD category.
UCEED 2024: Application Form
The registration can be only done online on uceed.iitb.ac.in and no offline forms are accepted. Visit the official website, and register using your email id. Verify your email and proceed to fill the application form. Fill in all the personal details in the form and upload necessary documents and save and Preview the application. Submit the form and proceed to pay the stipulated fee given below.

Exam Pattern
- Number of papers will be 1 with two parts, A and B
- The language of the question paper will be English
- The mode of the exam will be the Computer-based test (Part A) and paper-based test (Part B)
- The exam will be a total of 300 marks.
- A Section will be Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions: For these questions, an answer is a number that needs to be entered using a virtual keyboard on the computer screen. No choices are shown for these questions.
- B Section will be Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): Each MSQ has one or more correct answers out of the four given choices.
- C Section will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): Each MCQ has four choices out of which only one is the correct answer.

UCEED 2024 Counselling
- The candidates who qualify UCEED 2024 have to apply for admission to the B. Des programme. The candidates who qualify the entrance test can apply at IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur for admission in the academic year 2024-2023. All 4 institutes have a common application form for admission in B. Des programmes.
- The candidates who are selected have to register at the official website of UCEED and fill in their personal particulars and select institutes of their choice in order of their preference.
- The candidates are then allotted seats according to their rank and preferences. The result of the allotment is published online at the website.
- The candidate can then choose to Accept “freeze” their allocated Institute or Decline the offer. The candidates can also select the “float” option to say that they accept the current seat allocated to them, however, if a seat of higher preference is allotted to them, they shall accept it.
- The candidates who accept the seat have to pay an online acceptance fee and book their seats.
- The seat acceptance fee for admission via UCEED 2024 is INR 2000.

UCEED 2024: Important Points
- Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT) will conduct the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED).
- Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (class 12th) or its equivalent in 2023 or appearing in 2024.
- The score of UCEED is accepted by the four Participating Institutes – IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur.

- The mode of UCEED is Online. It is a Computer Based Test.
- The level of difficulty is moderate to high as per last year’s exam session.
