Undergraduate Programs in USA

Undergraduate Programs in USA |Undergraduate Course in United States

In US there are only few undergraduate programs available but the standard for the admission is quite high compare to other countries. For Instance- US undergraduate schools/college may ask the students (who wish to take admission) to prepare well in their high school in combination with some classes at college level to have competition with the bright students. The duration of the course depends on the credit hours and full time education in US schools/colleges.

There are 2 types of Undergraduate Programs in USA

  • 2 Years Undergraduate Courses (Generally known as an Associate Degree)
  • 4 Years Undergraduate Courses (Generally known as a Bachelor’s Degree- B.A/ B.Sc.)

When students apply for 2 years degree course then it is important to know for them that a 16 years formal education id needed for admission in master’s program.

Apart from six State Maritime Academies and five US Service Academies (The Military/The Air Force/The Coast Guard/The Navy/The Merchant Marines) the institutes that provide Bachelor’s degree in Science for all subjects are-

  • The Georgia Institute of Technology
  • The California Institute of Technology
  • The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

This includes the one for which the other institutes would provide a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts, such as History.

The tough course in science and engineering is the difference in a B.Sc. in History provided by these institutes and a B.A provided by some other institutes.

The credibility of the course degree is based on the accreditation of the institution allowing the degree. The undergraduate instructions in US are accredit by some of the regional non-profit groups. Along with this, the state and federal governments impose needs on degree course allowing institutions, typically by limiting financial support to the institution or the loan availability of loans to its students depending on specific norms of quality. For civil services, financial supports and some other employment requirements the unaccredited degrees may not be considered in US. In some other cases, where criminal penalties apply this kind of degree should be produced on behalf of one from an accredited school. This is legally restricted or illegal in few jurisdictions to use these types of unaccredited degrees titles.
