BMLT Admission 2023: A bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory technology (BMLT), sometimes termed clinical laboratory technology, is a three-year undergraduate curriculum that may be undertaken after graduating from high school. It is a professional program and among the most sought-after paramedical technology programs.

Clinical laboratory science, also known as medical laboratory technology, aids in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease using forensic laboratory testing. It’s an add-on to life science. It entails the examination of bodily fluids, tissues, and blood. Microorganism examination, chemical tests, and platelet counts are also included. Medical field specialists and scientists serve an important in sampling, testing, evaluating information, reporting on scientific theory, and recording them.

Eligibility Required for BMLT Admission

• Candidate must have qualified 10+2 from a recognized board or affiliated institutions and must have passed with Physics, Biology, and Chemistry as main subjects.
• Candidate must have attained 55% of marks in 12^th There is some relaxation in percentage for categories like SC, ST, EWS, and OBC.
• There is as such no prescribed age limit for the admission of BMLT but in some universities, minimum age of 17 years is required for admission in the program.
• The admission in this program can be merit-based or entrance-based depending upon the colleges or universities the candidate wishes to apply to.
• For entrance-based admission, it is advised that the candidate coming for examination may have been vaccinated for the safety of that particular candidate and other candidates too.

BMLT Admission Procedure

Admission to the BMLT program is typically based on academic merit. Candidates must submit the appropriate institutes’ application forms and attach all necessary papers. Candidates will be shortlisted resulting from previous school records, and their documents will be verified at the institution. The admissions procedure differs from one college to the next. Several institutions may choose students based on their performance on a university-level admission test, accompanied by personal interviews. However, the bulk of Indian colleges admit BMLT students based on merit.

Lateral Admission – Candidates will be admitted directly to the second year of the program using the lateral entry entrance method. The qualifying requirements for this form of admission are identical to the traditional entrance procedures.

Entrance test – There is no specific test for admittance to the BMLT program. Several institutions may administer a specific entrance examination, although most admissions systems rely on past school performance. For the entrance test, you have to make yourself register on the official website of the college/University and then upload the documents and pay the entrance examination fee. After a month or two, the examination will be held as per the schedule which will be available to the candidates on the official website of the college or University. After the result is out for the entrance examination the students will know their status that will they get admission to their desired college or institution or not by evaluating their score from last year cutoffs. Due to the COVID pandemic, all the examinations and admission procedures are on halt.

1^st Year

The subjects to be taught in the first year of the course are Human Physiology       Cells, Cardiovascular system, Human Anatomy, Terminology and general plan of the body, The Nervous System, Biochemistry, Musculoskeletal system, Special Senses, Health education and communication, Respiratory System, Genitourinary System, Bio-medical waste management, Digestive System, Endocrine System and many more.

2^nd Year

The subjects to be taught in the second year of the course are  Pathology, Introduction and History of Pathology, Mechanism of coagulation, Microbiology, Tissue renewal and repair, Complete blood count, Clinical Haematology, General features of acute and chronic inflammation, Introduction to immunohematology, Immunology and serology, Protein-energy malfunction, Progressive, Histopathology and his techniques, Cancer, Hemoglobin and many more.

3^rd Year
