CAT Application Form 2018 will be released soon on to the official portal.CAT is the Common Admission Test organized by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) on rotational basis for admissions in business administration programs which is conducted via online mode i.e. through computer based selection test. CAT is generally carried out for admission to more than 100 management institutes across India which consisting of the most reputed institutions like Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), International Management Institute (IMI), National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), S.P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), Management Development Institute (Gurgoan), Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Jamanlal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) and many more.

Applicants firstly have to register themselves on the official portal which is on www.iimcat.ac.in. CAT Application Form 2018 will be released in the month of August till September, 2018. As expected the CAT Examination 2018 will commence in the month of December, 2018. For further details read the article given below.

CAT Application Form 2018: Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree is required in any discipline with the minimum of 50% marks (for general) & 45% (for ST/SC).
  • Candidates pursuing in the last year of Bachelor’s degree i.e. the appearing candidates were eligible to apply for CAT 2018.
  • CS /CA/ /ICWA professional degree holders are also eligible to apply for CAT 2018.

Documents required while filling CAT Application Form

  • Educational qualification certificate is needed which contains all your passed degree or certificate of 10th & 12th standard etc.
  • Valid Email ID & Phone no.
  • Scanned photograph & signature
  • Name of the IIM Program which the candidate is applying for etc.

Steps to fill Application Form

  • Visit the official portal i.e. on https://iimcat.ac.in/.
  • Search for the link of CAT Application Form 2018 and hit on it.
  • Register yourself by entering relevant details
  • Registration ID & Password will be generated which is used for the purpose of filling application form.
  • Now, upload your scanned photograph, signature & necessary documents.
  • Make payment of the application fee.

Application Fee

  • Application fee amounts to Rs- 1700/-(General).
  • Application fee amounts to Rs-850/-(SC/ST).
  • Mode of paying the Application fee charges would be via online mode i.e. from DR/CR card/Net Banking.

Payment Mode Transaction Processing Fees
Debit Card (Visa/Master/Rupay) 0.75% of the value of the transaction for amount up to Rs.2000.00.
Debit Card (Visa/Master/Rupay) 1.00% of the value of the transaction for amount more than Rs.2000.00.
Net Banking Rs.20.00 per transaction.
Credit Card (Visa/Master) 1.20% of the value of the transaction.
Credit Card (Amex/Diners Club) 2.85% of the value of the transaction.
Cash Card & Wallet 1.75% of the value of the transaction.

Reservation of Seats for different category

  • SC- 15% seats;
  • ST- 7.5% seats;
  • PwD- 3%
  • NC-OBC- 27%

Important Points

  • Firstly applicants have to register themselves and Registration ID & Password will be generated.
  • With the help of Registration id & password, candidates can fill their application form.
  • Application form will be released in the month of August 2018.
  • Applicants must be very careful while filling the application form.
  • Mode of remitting fee would be done via online mode through DR/CR card/Net Banking.
  • Candidates can choose three examination centres with their preferences.
  • After successful completion of the process, take the print out of the application form for future reference.
  • As CAT examination is held on rotational basis so it is expected that the examination will going to be held in the month of December, 2018.
  • Appearing candidates were eligible to apply for CAT 2018.
  • CAT 2018 will be conducted through Computer based mode with the duration of 3hrs.
  • Three marks will be awarded for every correct response and 1 mark will be deducted for wrong response.
  • Candidates are suggested to make their proper schedule and make their study plan.
  • Syllabus consists of Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability & Reading comprehension.
