AMU or Aligarh Muslim University is one of the renowned Universities established in 1875, which also provides education to the school students at the levels of Class I, VI, IX, and XI. AMU had opened the school to facilitate education to the backward section of the society, especially for the deserving students of the Muslim Community as well as other communities. This post has been articulated for the students who are willing to take admission in AMU Schools. A detailed syllabus and examination pattern for all the classes have been described for the aspiring students preparing for the AMU school entrance exam. AMU Entrance Exam for Class I: Syllabus and Exam Pattern
The total merit for Class I entrance to the AMU school will include a written exam and an interview. The written exam will be of 85 marks and on the basis of the candidate’s performance in it, he/she will be called for an Interview which will be of 15 marks.
Test Paper Pattern: Class I Written test for AMU entrance 2024
There will be 25 subjective/ objective type questions from English, Arithmetic, Urdu, and GK. The time allotted to solve the written test is 2 hours and the mode of conducting the entrance exam will be offline.
Important Note: The applying candidate will only enter the interview round if he/she clears the written test scoring a minimum of 10% marks.
AMU Class VI Syllabus & Exam Pattern
The merit to take admission in Class VI will be prepared from a written test followed by an interview. The written test will be of 85 marks and after it based on the candidate’s performance, he/she will be called for the interview.
Important note: The candidates who have performed well in the written exam must score a minimum of 40% marks in the interview for the final selection.
Test Paper Pattern: Class VI Written test for AMU entrance 2024
The test paper will be divided into two sections having questions from five subjects as described below:
Section I: The section I will have questions from language subjects including English, Hindi, and Urdu. There will be 25 questions which will be objective type (MCQs). Each question corresponds to one mark which makes section I to be of 25 marks.
Section II: In section II, 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of one mark each will be asked which makes it of total 60 marks. Out of 60 marks, Mathematics shares a weightage of 30 marks and the other 30 marks are comprised of Science questions.
Note: Only the candidates securing a minimum of 40% marks in Section-I are eligible for interview/admission in AMU school for class VI.

Class V syllabus prescribed by CBSE /NCERT also followed in University schools will act as a syllabus for Class VI entrance test paper.
AMU Class IX Exam Syllabus & Pattern
Here also, the merit will be prepared by taking a Written Test of 85 Marks followed by an Interview of 15 Marks. Students will only be called for the interview round based on his/her performance in the written test.
Also, the candidate qualifying for the written test shall perform well enough to get a minimum of 40% marks in the Interview to get admission in Class VI in AMU school.

Test Paper pattern: Class IX Written test for AMU entrance 2024
The written exam paper for AMU Class IX will be divided into two sections which together forms 85 marks as given below:
Section I: This section has questions from Languages, i.e. English, Urdu, and Hindi. It comprises 25 Objective type questions of one mark each, i.e. section I comprises 25 marks.
Section II: It contains 60 multiple choice questions of one mark each, which is further divided into Mathematics and Science having 3o questions from each subject.
Note: A minimum of 40% marks are required in section I in the written test for the final selection round.

Subject-wise syllabus for AMU School Entrance Exam
- English: It includes English Grammar, Comprehensive passage, and Communication skills (for viva-voce)
- Mathematics: It will cover topics up to the previous class for which you are applying.
- General Knowledge: It includes Current affairs, Indian Culture, and Heritage, National Monuments, and some science-related topics (like research and innovation)
- It is recommended to solve the previous year’s and last few years’ question papers to get familiarized with the questions and understand your weaknesses and strength while solving.
